Larian Studios, the team behind Baldur's Gate 3, just held a Q&A session on Reddit to talk about the development of their upcoming game, Divinity, and clarify concerns about the use of generative AI.
In an interview with Bloomberg, CEO and Founder of Larian Studios, Swen Vincke, explained that GenAI will be used to explore ideas for Divinity, but this statement created some confusion amongst fans as it was then suggested Larian was "pushing hard" on generative AI.

The rumors that Larian was pushing hard on generative AI quickly spread throughout the community, but Vincke clarified what was said, "I was asked explicitly about concept art and our use of Gen AI. I answered that we use it to explore things. I didn’t say we use it to develop concept art. The artists do that. And they are indeed world-class artists."
Vincke stated Larian's use of AI is not going to take anybody's job, as their 72-person art team includes 23 concept artists, and they have plans to hire more.
