Playground has finally shown off Fable's gameplay, and it's looking much more detailed than anything that's come before in the series.
For the first time in Fable's history, this reboot will be "truly open world". In the gameplay footage, we see the hero doing everything from horseback riding around vast fields to strolling around bustling towns.
There's a lot to go over here, which many of us welcome, because we've been left starving for years. Basically, what we have is classic Fable, but with a ton of modern innovations. That means that Playground is promising a "seamless" open world, much more akin to a modern RPG.
Unlike previous entries, we're also told that we can go where we want "from early in the game". And yes, it sounds like that will include Bowerstone, looking very faithful to its original design, while also expanding in size.
Better yet, it doesn't look like this vastness is compromising the details in the settlements we come across. We see the player walking around towns and cities, and that too is a vast improvement on the original trilogy.
