The fan created the Destiny 2 foes using Spore's built-in creature creator function, expertly mimicking their forms within Spore's whimsical aesthetic.
First released for PC in 2008, Spore seemed to represent the next step in evolution for Maxis, the legendary game studio. The developer made its name on detailed simulation-based games like SimCity and The Sims, which aimed to replicate specific aspects of life, like urban planning and human living. Spore challenged players to shepherd a species of cartoonish lifeform from its birth in a primordial soup through different stages of evolution, from microscopic organism to spacefaring civilization. Though the game ultimately left a mixed legacy, many fans still remember it fondly for its grand scale and the versatility of its creature creator at enabling player expression.
