Blue Prince, an award-winning, critically-acclaimed first-person puzzle game from 2025, is being shadow dropped on the Nintendo Switch 2 today. Blue Prince was originally released for other platforms last year, launching for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X to widespread rave reviews. Blue Prince wound up with a 90 overall rating on review aggregate site OpenCritic, solidifying it as one of the highest-rated games to launch in 2025.
Blue Prince was my personal Game of the Year in 2025. Even though it is technically a single-player game, my wife and I effectively played Blue Prince in co-op by taking turns. When she was doing a run, I was the note-taker, and when her run was over, I would get a turn through the mansion and she would jot down notes along the way. It was an engrossing collaborative experience and some of the most fun I've ever had playing a video game. And now Nintendo Switch 2 owners can see what all the fuss is about, as Blue Prince is being shadow dropped for Nintendo's latest home console/handheld hybrid.
