Concord Extends Closed Beta Period

Concord developer Firewalk Studios has announced that it will extend the closed beta period for the upcoming live-service title by one day. The closed beta for the 5v5 hero shooter was originally scheduled to run from July 12 to July 14, but those who enjoyed Concord can now jump back in for an additional 24 hours.

First announced during the 2023 PlayStation Showcase by way of a CGI trailer, Concord signified a return to in-house first-person shooters for PlayStation, a genre the company has largely shied away from since 2013's Killzone: Shadow Fall. The recent May 2024 State of Play debuted Concord gameplay, revealing it as a sci-fi 5v5 hero shooter in the same vein as Overwatch and Valorant, but with a healthy dose of inspiration from Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Alongside the gameplay, Firewalk also confirmed an August 23 release date for Concord, as well as a closed beta period in mid-July for those who pre-ordered the game.
