Fans are working on a Dreamcast port of Grand Theft Auto 3, which would make Rockstar's iconic open world game playable on Sega's final console for the first time ever. Grand Theft Auto 3 is quite easily one of the most important video games ever made. It launched the Grand Theft Auto series to new heights, established Rockstar Games as a household name, laid the groundwork for countless open world games to follow, and is one of the best-selling and highest-rated video games ever made. GTA 3 is a landmark release, though fans have limited options when it comes to playing it.

Initially, Grand Theft Auto 3 was a PlayStation 2 exclusive. It eventually made its way to PC, Xbox, and more recently, mobile devices. Grand Theft Auto 3 was also released on PS4, though that version of the game has since been replaced by the far less popular Definitive Edition that completely changes the graphics and introduces some unfortunate technical problems not present in the original. Now it seems Grand Theft Auto fans may soon have the chance to experience Grand Theft Auto 3 on yet another platform.
