Police have arrested a man who allegedly stole $5,000 worth of Pokemon Trading Card Game cards. The Pokemon TCG theft is just the latest in a surge in Pokemon TCG-related crimes that have seen high value cards swiped from stores and individual sellers.

Collecting and reselling valuable Pokemon TCG cards isn't necessarily easy, as those who buy cards legitimately do so at a risk. Buying a pack with nothing valuable in it means taking a loss, but fans often keep going in hopes of hitting the jackpot with an extremely pricey card. Unfortunately, not everyone goes about making money off Pokemon cards does so in a honorable manner, and there have been numerous stories of everything from Target to small comic book stores being stolen from.

The Pokemon TCG Illustration Contest makes a severe decision after fans point out AI-generated submissions among the finalists.
