Animal Crossing fans should brace themselves for a comfy Nintendo Switch game coming this October. From emerging developer Ambertail Games comes Amber Isle, a cozy sim that follows prehistoric creatures in a quaint and scenic village. Similar to Timmy and Tommy Nook in Animal Crossing, players will act as the village's shopkeeper to craft and sell items to the Paleofolk, upgrade their store with new and exclusive items, and decorate the village to their liking.
Amber Isle will be published by Team 17, the British crew behind cozy sims like Moving Out and Hokko Life, as well as popular titles such as The Escapists, Hell Let Loose, and Worms. As for Amber Isle, the shop management/social sim has serious Animal Crossing vibes, even down to its gameplay style and color palette. As a nice change of pace for Animal Crossing regulars, Amber Isle flips the script for players, allowing them to take on the role of an aspiring entrepreneur and business owner rather than the recipient of a too-good-to-be-true getaway package.
One Animal Crossing: New Horizons mechanic may be fun for some, but it proves limiting for a lot of players, who hope to see it...
