Marvel Rivals Adding Character That First Appeared in the Comics 57 Years Ago

Team-based hero shooter Marvel Rivals has released a new trailer showcasing cosmic being Adam Warlock in action. Although Warlock's inclusion in Marvel Rivals was announced over a month ago, this is the first time fans are getting a good look at what he'll be able to do in the game.

Co-created by comic legends Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Warlock made his first comic book appearance in September 1967 in Fantastic Four #66, although at the time, he was known only as Him, an artificially created cosmic entity designed by a group of Earth scientists as a prototype for the next stage of human evolution. While he wouldn't take up the name Adam Warlock until Marvel Premiere #1 in April 1972, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans may still recognize Adam Warlock from his appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, in which he initially attacks the team before ultimately joining forces.

Marvel Rivals is set to launch with an impressive roster, which may offer clues on which heroes and villains Marvel may prioritize in the future.
