It's been a long and grueling wait for the next mainline game in the BioShock franchise, with news about BioShock 4 not being very promising in the past year. As of last summer, things were looking bleak, with the game apparently failing an internal review that resulted in a massive ground-up overhaul of the project, layoffs, and a shake-up in developer Cloud Chamber's leadership.

Still, BioShock 4 development is confirmed to be underway according to 2K Games, and various new details about the project have since leaked online, leaving gamers slightly ambivalent about the setting, characters, story, and just about everything else related to the sequel. With BioShock 4's troublesome history, it's hard to know exactly what to be excited or nervous about regarding the game's future release.
