Twitch has unbanned former President Donald Trump after three years, five months, and four weeks. With Twitch and livestreaming in general skyrocketing in popularity this last decade, it was only a matter of time before politicians got in on the action. Various politicians have utilized Twitch to campaign and rally their base, and that includes Donald Trump.
Donald Trump's Twitch channel was created in 2019. Trump's Twitch channel wasn't used to play video games or to have Trump respond to questions in chat, but rather, it was mainly used to stream the former president's rallies. In June 2020, Twitch suspended Donald Trump's Twitch account for hateful conduct, due to unspecified things that were said during his rallies. That first Trump Twitch ban only lasted a couple of weeks, with his account restored in July 2020.
