Beloved game developer Hideki Kamiya has revealed that he is still personally very interested in leading development of potential sequels to Viewtiful Joe and Okami. Throughout his three decades in the gaming industry, Kamiya has become one of gaming's most prolific faces and has worked on a plethora of iconic and memorable games. Kamiya spent more than ten years with Capcom in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and later went on to co-found Bayonetta developer Platinum Games in 2006. Now, Kamiya wants to return to two of his cult classic games.
During his time with Capcom and later Clover Studio, Hideki Kamiya helped to create two of the most beloved series of the 2000s. Viewtiful Joe, a side-scrolling beat-em-up inspired by superheroes and Japanese "tokusatsu" shows, would become a cult hit with both the original game and later its sequel in Viewtiful Joe 2. Okami debuted as an action-adventure game based around Japanese folklore, earning several accolades and later seeing a Wii port and an HD remaster on modern consoles. Kamiya is now pushing his interest in developing new entries straight to Capcom.
