Leading streaming platform Twitch has issued a statement regarding its decision to lift the ban on former President Donald Trump. Trump's Twitch channel was recently reinstated after being banned for a significant period of over three years and five months.

The Amazon-owned streaming platform Twitch often makes headlines for banning streamers, including top names like Amouranth, Nickmercs, and Kai Cenat, but it also sometimes faces criticism for inconsistent rule enforcement. Trump's Twitch channel, which was primarily used to broadcast his rallies, received a temporary ban in 2020 for a couple of weeks. However, in 2021, Twitch imposed an indefinite ban on his account, citing the events surrounding the January 6 Capitol riots as the reason for this decision. At that time, a spokesperson for Twitch described the ban as a "necessary step" intended to protect the safety and integrity of the community.
