We may finally know when Super Smash Bros. is coming to the Switch 2, thanks to a new report by an industry insider. Nintendo's crossover platform series, which debuted on the Nintendo 64, has made an appearance in every console generation since. Along with Zelda and Animal Crossing, it's one of the most anticipated releases for the Switch 2.
But when could Smash actually come to Switch 2? Until today, it was anyone's guess. But now, new information by an industry insider suggests a follow-up to the Switch's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate could be closer than we think.
A post on X (formerly Twitter) by industry insider Reece "Kiwi Talkz" Reilly, embedded above, implies a Smash Bros. game could be released sometime in the next two years (spotted by Powerup Gaming). It's one of four major releases Reilly says he's currently anticipating, alongside GTA 6 this November, Zelda next year (to coincide with the movie), and Metroid "on the near horizon."
It's a compelling theory, but don't get your hopes up just yet. We know so little about this potential new Smash project, and there are many things it could potentially be that would leave fans disappointed.
For what...
