Saros gets a brand-new update for May 2026, with Housemarque addressing various issues with the game while also continuing to apply quality of life improvements. Building off of Hoursemarque's previous game Returnal, Saros brings back the third person bullet hell and roguelite elements, while expanding the gameplay and narrative elements in a new way. So far, it appears the game is another big hit for the Finnish studio.
While sales numbers are not yet available at the time of publication, Housemarque is making sure to take advantage of as much new technology as it can, despite Saros also having a massive file size as a result. It also seems that the studio learned a lot of lessons from Returnal as Saros offers a more customizable experience, allowing players to ramp up the difficulty or soften the rough edges a bit for something a little more comfortable. Either way, it appears that Saros is destined to continue evolving over time through new updates, such as the latest one which arrived on May 5, 2026.
