Abiotic Factor has released its new Cosmic Companions major update, adding a wealth of content, systems items, and a crossover adventure that are live now. The scientific survival crafting game's newest update brought a surge of players returning to the game, causing its player count to spike since the update dropped. This is the first significant post-launch content drop for Abiotic Factor ever since its full 1.0 release in July 2025.
Developed by Deep Field Games and published by Playstack, Abiotic Factor is a complex survival game for 1–6 players, set in an underground research facility in Australia. Players will take on the role of scientists, researchers, and employees of the facility that aliens and anomalies have overrun. Leaning into its science elements, Abiotic Factor lets players build bases and experiment with resources in their surroundings to create makeshift weapons and tools, all while surviving and trying to find the next working toilet.
