IO Interactive's CEO has just doubled down on the studio's promise to port 007 First Light to Nintendo Switch 2. 007 First Light's Nintendo Switch 2 version was first announced in the April 2025 Nintendo Direct, and while official information on the port has been somewhat scarce in the year since, it seems things are shaping up well in development.

An origin story for the iconic British spy, 007 First Light is currently set to release on May 27, 2026 on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. The game's narrative will see players assume the role of a 26-year-old version of the titular protagonist, earning his 00 status for the very first time. Gameplay-wise, 007 First Light looks to be a thrilling mix of Hitman's social stealth mechanics, Uncharted's action set pieces, and an assortment of all-new, innovative action adventure game mechanics.
