In a post shared on Twitter/X, Smektała reflected on his time with the studio and thanked the many people across development and publishing that helped shape Dying Light into what it is today. For fans of the series, this definitely feels like the end of an era, especially considering how closely tied Tymon has been to the identity and direction of the franchise over the years.
He also took time to thank the Dying Light community, saying that the passion and feedback from players helped guide the series and push it forward. According to Smektała, the franchise remains in “great hands,” and while he is stepping away from Techland, he is looking forward to experiencing future entries as a fan from the outside.
