One of my favorite things about Final Fantasy as a series is that there's so much scope for what it can be. Over the years, we've enjoyed classic fantasy, grimy near-future dystopias, steampunk worlds of wonder, and even a (relatively) grounded modern-day setting in Final Fantasy 15. The fact all of these different worlds are always unmistakably still Final Fantasy is part of the magic to me.
With Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 coming out in the near future, attention will soon turn to Final Fantasy 17. The last mainline game in the series, of course, took things back to the classic swords and sorcery approach, so what exactly can we expect from the 17th numbered entry in this iconic franchise?
It's a question that's still being debated by gamers everywhere, and there are some very interesting answers out there. One gamer on Reddit has suggested we should get a Final Fantasy game set in space, which I could actually totally see. A whole new cast of characters sailing out among the stars, traveling to different planets. Give me a Chocobo wearing a space helmet and I can die happy.
"SPACE. I want space," enthuses this...
