Sony has commented on its upcoming PlayStation 6 console, which has yet to be unveiled at the time of this writing. Sony has had incredible success in the video game hardware market since the days of the original PlayStation, which trounced industry leader Nintendo and led to the best-selling console to date, the PlayStation 2.
The PlayStation 2 dominated its generation, and while the PS3 had a slow start, it could still be considered a big success in the long run. The PS4 was another success story, and PS5 sales are nearing 100 million units sold worldwide. PlayStation consoles consistently sell well, and so a PlayStation 6 is inevitable.
