Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is possibly the most unique Soulsborne title from developers at FromSoftware, stripping away the various RPG elements found in the studio's other major titles, such as Elden Ring or the Dark Souls trilogy. The skill-driven experience remains unmatched, and could arguably be set in a category of its own in the FromSoft lineup.

Fans of Sekiro got an unexpected and exciting announcement in August 2025 during Gamescom's opening night broadcast, with the official Sekiro: No Defeat anime movie revealed for a 2026 release. It was an unexpected and welcome surprise for fans of the iconic Soulsborne game, and has proven there's still massive interest in the Sekiro story, characters, and future of the IP.

While there's still no specific release date confirmed outside a 2026 launch window, Sekiro fans are getting another brand-new official release to tide them over until No Defeat eventually drops this year, and it drops this June.
