It was back in 2022 that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners took the world by storm when the Cyberpunk 2077-inspired anime arrived on Netflix. Set in the same universe as Cyberpunk 2077, but following a new cast of characters, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners followed the story of a street kid called David who, after losing everything, decides to become an Edgerunner, a mercenary outlaw in a city obsessed with technology and body-modification. Joined by a brand-new team of eclectic characters, Edgerunners offered Cyberpunk 2077 a brand-new look at Night City and the horrors that exist within it.
Due to its popularity, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was soon greenlit for a second season, which was announced back in July 2025 but, in the meantime, it seems as though fans have something else to look forward to.
