Marvel Fans United Over Major Spider-Man Villain Redesigns

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is only a few months away, and only 14 characters of its 20-character launch roster have been revealed. Hulk and Black Panther were announced at EVO Japan 2026 for the Fighting Avengers team, alongside Captain America and Iron Man. This leaves six more playable characters who have yet to be revealed.

These six characters will be divided into the last two four-character MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls teams, with one featuring Doctor Doom and one featuring Ghost Rider. It may not be incredibly difficult to imagine what factions of Marvel characters may be represented on either, as a result, but MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls has already given fans a massive tease as to which playable character will be revealed next.

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls’ Fighting Avengers trailer snuck in a fairly explicit tease for one or more Spider-Man villains in its final seconds, specifically on a screen that asks, “Which team will assemble next?” The screen flashes green momentarily, and pausing on this frame has allowed fans to begin investigating a handful of scrawled clues.
