The re-release of the classic PlayStation 1 game Tomba! appears to be coming to Xbox as well as its previously announced platforms, if a recent ESRB rating is accurate, anyway. Tomba was first released as a PlayStation 1 exclusive in 1997. A side-scrolling platformer, Tomba was notable for its unique art style and Metroidvania gameplay elements. The game didn't sell all that well when it first launched, but it was popular enough to justify the development of a sequel, Tomba 2: The Evil Swine Return.

Tomba is remembered fondly as one of the best PS1 platformers, but it's unfortunately somewhat difficult to play nowadays. Those that don't have a copy of the PS1 original can purchase it on PS3, but at the time of this writing, the game is not playable on modern platforms. That will change on August 1, when Tomba: Special Edition is released for PS5 with various enhancements.

A classic PlayStation 1 game from 1997 is confirmed to be launching on the PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC just a few months shy of its 27th anniversary.
