PlayStation Plus Officially Revives A PS1 Classic

The PlayStation Plus Game Catalog has added plenty of modern games this month, including the juggernaut Red Dead Redemption 2, but one of the most enticing treats is the single throwback title in the lot. While the PS Plus Classics selection is only available to Premium subscribers, it's arguably one of the biggest perks of the subscription for die-hard fans.

Previous 2026 additions to the Classics catalog included highlights like the PSX classic Ridge Racer and PS2 JRPG Wild Arms 4. Not every Classics addition is necessarily a true classic — Wall-E is an incredible film, but the Wall-E tie-in game that came to the service in February is a little more commonplace. This month, though, is definitely closer to Ridge Racer territory than Wall-E.

On May 19, Time Crisis will be joining the PlayStation Plus Classics catalog, as revealed in a post on the official PlayStation Blog. While the iconic rail shooter made its name in arcades, it blasted its way into plenty of living rooms thanks to a port on the original PlayStation that made use of a light gun accessory.

It might not provide quite the same experience as an actual light...
