The Halo series is in a period of major change, with shake-ups ranging from the end of active Halo Infinite updates to the leap to Unreal Engine 5 in the upcoming Halo: Campaign Evolved remake project. These might pale in comparison to the biggest shift, though, which has finally manifested itself in a tangible way.

For nearly 25 years now, Master Chief has been the poster boy for Xbox, with his green suit of armor and opaque helmet defining the brand almost as much as the X logo itself. Although that association won't be going away any time soon, the day that Master Chief crosses the divide has come.

Reddit user Maxkid1995 shared a photo of a Halo: Campaign Evolved PS5 box (as reported by Windows Central), calling the sight "still very insane to see." While the photo, taken at Maxkid1995's local GameStop, doesn't show an actual copy of the game on store shelves, it proves that GameStop is already promoting the game with placeholder boxes.
