Steam has become the best place to go for PC gamers over the years, regardless of what genre you may or may not be into. Whether you're after the latest shooter, or a beloved indie release, you can usually find it on Valve's platform, and millions of players flock back every week to see what's on offer.
Even better than that, a lot of the games available on Steam can be played entirely for free. The backbone of that principle is free-to-play titles like Warframe and Counter-Strike, but there are others outside of that which you can play for nothing if you're quick enough.
Heading into each weekend, several games are usually made free for the duration, allowing you to get a full few days of enjoyment, without spending any of your hard-earned money. Though they go back to full price after, it does at least provide a chance to see if they're any good before you commit to a purchase. The latest run of those has been live for a couple of days, but there's still 24 hours left to enjoy them.
