Sony Announces Price Increases for New 1-Month, 3-Month PlayStation Plus Subscriptions

Sony today announced slight price hikes to the 1-month and 3-month PlayStation Plus subscriptions, though only for new subscribers.

Gaming in today's world has never been pricier. $70 base games, microtransactions, Battle Passes, and subscriptions like Nintendo Switch Online, PlayStation Plus, and Xbox Game Pass all make gaming an expensive hobby, but it's gotten even more expensive thanks to console, accessory, and subscription pricing. Xbox stirred the pot last year when they increased the price of Xbox Game Pass, though new CEO Asha Sharma recently rolled the price back a bit, though in the process also removed new Call of Duty releases from the catalog.

Despite the blowback Xbox received last year, PlayStation is pushing forward with a new price hike. Thankfully, the price hike isn't too damaging, nor will it affect current subscribers, at least, not yet.

Taking to Twitter, PlayStation confirmed the pricing for 1-month and 3-month subscriptions as the following:
