Bloodborne may very well be the most anticipated FromSoftware reboot of all time, with players holding on to any morsel of hope for an official current-gen remaster or, god willing, an actual sequel from developers at FromSoftware. The likelihood of these things happening are infinitesimally small, unfortunately, and the situation is a bit complex despite there being clear demand for a new Bloodborne project.

Rumors suggest that Bloodborne’s original PlayStation 4 code is extremely difficult to update, which could make a modern remake more expensive and time-consuming than fans expect. Further, Sony may also see the game as more of a cult favorite than a massive mainstream seller, so it hasn’t become a top business priority. On top of that, fan expectations are now so high that any reboot would face huge pressure to be nearly perfect.

All that considered, Bloodborne fans will absolutely want to mark their calendars for an upcoming stunning new release from Prime 1 Studio, Gehrman The First Hunter, officially licensed by Sony and expected to drop in October this year (via Sideshow).
