IO Interactive Shows Off How 007 First Light Will Push the PS5 Pro

Sony and IO Interactive have shared new details on how 007 First Light will take advantage of the PlayStation 5 Pro, and yes, this is another one of those “this is why you purchased the PS5 Pro” moments.

In a new PlayStation Blog post, IO Interactive broke down how 007 First Light uses the upgraded version of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, better known as PSSR. The short version is that the game should look cleaner, sharper, while providing more consistent frame rates on PS5 Pro, especially when there’s a lot happening on screen.

According to IO Interactive, the upgraded PSSR helps reduce shimmering, flickering, and visual noise. That should make a big difference in a game like 007 First Light, where you’re dealing with detailed environments, lighting, hair, clothing, foliage, and all the other little things that can fall apart when an upscaler isn’t doing its job properly.
