Depending on who you ask, the Sonic Adventure series is legendary. The first game really put Sonic back on the map, creating a whole new generation of 3D fans. Like Mario 64 before it, it was one of those "must-see" games at the time, and I can vividly recall being wowed by it from the first level.
From there, things expanded with Sonic Adventure 2, which added multiplayer into the mix and a few new characters, notably the memorable Shadow the Hedgehog. The Sonic and Shadow rivalry would continue for decades, and a story resembling Adventure 2 would eventually grace the big screen in the third Sonic movie.
Of course, Sonic Adventure never calls it quits, given its popularity. Over on X, fans are going wild over a new Sonic Adventure release. It's yet another testament to the staying power of the series.
