Fable Gets Its First Official Ratings Ahead of Xbox Games Showcase

Fable, the upcoming open-world RPG from Xbox Game Studios and Playground Games, has been rated by content boards in South Korea and Australia. Fable has yet to receive an ESRB rating, but given that these two boards handed down similar classifications—both effectively equivalent to a Mature rating—fans should probably expect the ESRB to land in the same ballpark when the time comes.

It is worth noting that these ratings arrive at an interesting point in the game’s marketing. Fable still does not have a firm release date, only a Fall 2026 launch window for PC, PS5, and Xbox platforms. However, with the Xbox Games Showcase scheduled for June 7, there is growing speculation that could soon change. While Gears of War: E-Day is expected to serve as the showcase’s major centerpiece, Fable is arguably one of Xbox’s other biggest upcoming releases, making it a strong candidate for a release date reveal or another substantial gameplay showing. Even if that doesn't, the timing of these ratings naturally adds fuel to the fire that surrounds the game.
