Marvel Rivals may be welcoming two new characters to the roster, if teasers from within the closed beta are anything to go by. NetEase Games commenced a beta test from July 23 that will run for two weeks, allowing players to try out Marvel Rivals' full selection of superheroes, including Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Scarlet Witch.
There are 21 confirmed characters in the Marvel Rivals lineup, but little Easter eggs scattered around the various maps could hint at the arrival of two familiar faces. After the long-anticipated release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse last year and the understandable buzz surrounding the new Deadpool & Wolverine movie, it makes perfect sense for NetEase to introduce Marvel's Merc With a Mouth, Wade Wilson, and one of Spider-Man's female variants, Spider-Gwen.
Marvel Rivals already has a great cast of well-known heroes from the MCU and comics, as well as some that mainstream fans may not be familiar with. Before launch, I'd love to see characters like Thanos, Ghost Rider, and Yondu be added, and there's of course Avengers like Black Widow and Hawkeye that deserve a bit more spotlight.
