The idea of a Tekken Waffle House stage is something of a pipe dream among the Tekken community, but as it turns out, franchise creator Katsuhiro Harada is even more serious about making the concept happen than previously revealed. Requests for a Waffle House stage originally started as something of a joke, playing on the reputation of late-night Waffle House visits as a much more chaotic experience than the daytime equivalent.
In 2024, Harada responded to the requests earnestly, requesting more information about why a Waffle House stage was such a fixation for the community. Now, Harada has revealed his efforts to make fans' dreams a reality.
In a panel at Atlanta convention MomoCon this week, Harada shared that he's attempted to reach out to Waffle House multiple times in the past. Responding to a query about the collaboration, Harada said that the Tekken team "needs to contact the PR for Waffle House," and that he's attempted to "three times" in the past. Unfortunately, Waffle House has never responded to Harada's attempts.
Harada has a sense of humor about the whole affair, joking that Waffle House hates him due to the lack of communication. It's not all a joke...
