According to a set of leaks, a brand-new Baldur’s Gate game is in the works at the moment, and it’s not the highly anticipated Baldur’s Gate 4, the sequel to the award-winning BG3. Following its release in 2023, the latest RPG by Larian Studios has moved fans to petition for a follow-up, be it a direct sequel or just a new game in the series. Wizards of the Coast, who own the Dungeons and Dragons IP, has already confirmed Baldur’s Gate 4, but the game will not be produced by Larian nor will it be released any time soon.
As such, fans may be finding themselves in a drought of more turn-based CRPGs like BG3. However, that may soon be mitigated, as new leaks suggest that another Baldur’s Gate game is currently being developed. According to a report by PC Gamer, Kevin Martens, the co-lead designer for Baldur’s Gate 2 and former BioWare developer, is currently collaborating with Wizards of the Coast.
