With the launch of Season 2 in Marathon, Bungie is giving players more details on what they can expect to find as well as the first of two PvE-style game modes. After a hot start at launch, Marathon has seemingly cooled off a bit, with reports indicating that Bungie's extraction shooter has fallen short of expectations. In an effort to kickstart things, Season 2 is introducing some potentially game-changing elements.
To Bungie's credit, the studio has been highly responsive to player feedback, introducing changes and other enhancements at a much quicker pace throughout Season 1. However, the launch wasn't perfect, as highlighted by Marathon game director Joe Ziegler in a state-of-the-game blog post. Ziegler revealed what the team learned from launch, how they plan to address player complaints, as well as where Marathon is going in the future. The start of that journey has finally arrived as Season 2 is now available for players.
