Subnautica 2 developer Unknown Worlds Entertainment shared a roadmap of the features players can expect in the future, including a new region and the return of a fan-favorite suit. The Subnautica 2 development team also thanked fans for their continued support during the game's early access window.
It's no secret that Subnautica 2 is one of the hottest games of 2026 so far. Within hours of it's early access launch on May 14, over 467,000 Steam users were concurrently playing Subnautica 2. Although Subnautica 2's Steam player count has dropped to approximately 26,000 concurrent users as of this writing, that has not stopped players from diving into Unknown Worlds' hit early access title. Unknown Worlds stated that more fixes and content drops for Subnautica 2 are currently in development thanks to the continued feedback that players have provided across social media.
