Valve has finally confirmed that both the Steam Machine and Steam Frame VR headset can be expected to launch sometime this summer. The two devices were first announced in late 2025 alongside a redesigned Steam Controller, and Valve's Steam Machine has since spent its time at the center of speculation about its potential price, availability, and manufacturing challenges. And, of course, almost everybody interested in purchasing it or the Steam Frame were eager to find out exactly when they’d be able to get their hands on one.
20 years after Valve started one of its most beloved and meaningful stories, it remains unresolved and the fans wonder if plans exist to wrap it up.
While definite release dates for the Steam Machine and Steam Frame have still not been announced, Valve has at least confirmed that both devices will be “shipping this summer.” The announcement was primarily centered around discussing the expanded Steam Verified program beyond the Steam Deck. According to the company, Steam Machine Verified requirements are nearly identical to those for Valve’s popular portable gaming PC.
