007 First Light Sold 2.7 Million Copies In The First Week

We have breaking news supplied to me by our editor in chief Keith Mitchell, who is currently in attendance at an IO Interactive Event as part of Summer Game Fest 2026. I have been informed that during this event, it was revealed by CEO of IO Interactive Hakan B. Abrak, that 007 First Light sold 2.7 million copies in its first week on the market.

This is up significant from the previously reported first 24 hours number of 1.5 million copies sold. It also represents a huge success for IO Interactive with the game being a self published title. Given the recent reports that Amazon who has creative control over the James Bond franchise will be taking on future video game publishing. I really hope that this is a strong sign to them that IO Interactive knows exactly what they are doing with James Bond, and Amazon gives them the opportunity to see through their plans for a trilogy of games.

What I find even more impressive is that in 2026 most new video game series and IPs are struggling to sell these kinds of numbers and sure First Light has Bond, but it wouldn’t be selling as well as...
