The Last Of Us Fans Finally Getting The Game They've Been Waiting For

Despite being reportedly 80% complete and having spent around seven years in development, Naughty Dog announced that it would be canceling its The Last of Us Online title back in 2023. The decision was made due to the studio not wanting to spend all of its resources on maintaining a live-service title, instead choosing to continue work on its single-player narrative releases.

Despite Naughty Dog's decision making sense, it was disappointing news for fans of The Last of Us franchise who were excited to dive into a multiplayer game dedicated to the Factions mode which can be found in the base games. As such, players would have got to experience both PvE and PvP combat in maps inspired by the post-apocalyptic setting of The Last of Us.

However, it never came to be, but not all hope is lost as one developer decided to work on developing a game in direct response to The Last of Us Online's cancellation, and now, we can finally get a sneak peek at what we can expect.
