A new multiplayer game titled Saw: Genesis was announced during Summer Game Fest 2026, with Bloober Team in the role of publisher. The studio is best known for psychological horror games such as the acclaimed Silent Hill 2 remake, Cronos: The New Dawn, and the Layers of Fear franchise. Saw: Genesis marks Bloober Team's first video game adaptation of the movie franchise, although two official Saw games were previously released in 2009 and 2010 by Zombie Studios.
The previous Saw adaptations were third-person survival horror games centered on a single character trying to survive and escape Jigsaw's deadly traps. According to Metacritic, the first Saw game received mixed reviews, holding an average score of 59. The sequel fared worse, with an average score of 47. However, Bloober Team's upcoming title, Saw: Genesis, is taking the franchise in a completely different direction that could become a turning point for the series.
