Today’s Xbox Games Showcase at Summer Game Fest 2026 started off incredibly strong with a gameplay showing for Gears of War: E-Day. The showing included several sections in various locations, from panicked city streets to an abandoned grocery store.
One thing that really stood out to me was the darker tone and feel of what was being shown. But the trailer itself wasn’t even the biggest aspect of the reveal. It was after the trailer that Xbox CEO, Asha Sharma took to the stage to reveal that Gears of War: E-Day will be Xbox console exclusive when it releases on October 6, 2026.
