Over the years, there have been some brilliant, and not so brilliant, Batman adaptations, with most agreeing that The Dark Knight trilogy is probably the real high point we've had so far. Outside of that, though, there are still plenty of brilliant offerings across all sorts of different mediums, not least animation.

For those who grew up in the early 1990s, Batman: The Animated Series was a real, spectacular highlight. Featuring an iconic voice cast including the late Kevin Conroy as the Caped Crusader and Mark Hamill as the Joker, it really nailed its overall tone to adapt the IP into something we'd never really seen before.

Now, it has just returned in an entirely different medium, and it looks like a ton of fun if you have a few willing friends to hand.

Enemies of Gotham City is a brand-new board game from Upper Deck Entertainment that uses the Animated Series as it's background to deliver an area-control tabletop experience. In a bit of a twist, players take control of one of twelve iconic villains from the show, where the goal is to take control of one of Gotham's districts and stop the Batman in his tracks....
