Halo Officially Reveals Controversial Master Chief Redesign

Fans were given a new glimpse of Halo: Campaign Evolved during yesterday's Xbox Games Showcase. The game, which serves as a marker for the series' 25th anniversary this year, was also given a release date and new missions trailer. The new missions are meant to not only add some new content into the original Halo's story, but are also there to give additional context. Overall, it sounds pretty cool.

What isn't so cool, depending on which fans you ask, are the new Master Chief suits that are part of Halo: Campaign Evolved's Premium and Collector's Editions. The suits in question are part of the Alpha Halo Armory Pack, which gives you five brand-new skins for Master Chief. Pics of the suits have started to circulate on social media, including a post by grunt.api on X. And, for the most part, fans weren't exactly pleased.

Mostly, people seem to take issue with how the new suits redesign Master Chief. A few users called it "soulless" and others were turned off by the live service pitfalls that are often associated with in-game items like skins.
