Final Fantasy Resonance Revealed At Nintendo Direct

During today’s Nintendo Direct, one thing I didn’t expect was any Final Fantasy related announcements. But hey! What do I know? Square Enix decided this was the perfect place to announce Final Fantasy Resonance.

The first HD-2D game in the Final Fantasy series, Final Fantasy Resonance, is a celebration of both classic and modern Final Fantasy, evoking the beloved titles of yesteryear. With a return to turn-based combat for the first time since Final Fantasy X, which was released in 2003.

This tale of Crystals features a strategic turn-based battle system with a modern twist, the return of chocobos, espers and airships, in addition to appearances from beloved FINAL FANTASY characters such as Cloud, Tidus and the Warrior of Light – all presented in stunning, retro-inspired HD-2D graphics that push the limits of pixel art.
