The next Fallout game is sadly seemingly a long way away, with Bethesda Entertainment almost entirely dedicated to getting The Elder Scrolls VI out soon. That said, it will be along at some point, and fans are as invested as they have ever been in the future of the franchise and what the next game might be like.
The only really good thing about the fifth mainline game still being some way away, is that there are still plenty of opportunities for the community to make their voices heard ahead of development really ramping up. With that in mind, there is one area in particular where one fan seems to feel that a major change is absolutely necessary, but not everyone agrees..
Over on Reddit, one user shared a post stating their contention that Fallout 5 needs to ditch the pre-defined backstory of the protagonist in favor of Cyberpunk 2077-style origins. It's a very interesting idea, but fans were decidedly split about the best course of action, across hundreds of responses to the original post.
