A new report suggests that the in-development Avatar: The Last Airbender RPG may not have been completely canceled, instead undergoing a "reset." The Avatar game was first teased by developer Saber Interactive in 2024.

A recent statement from Avatar co-creator Bryan Konietzko suggested that there may still be hope for the franchise's in-development RPG. Konietzko revealed that the project was not actually canceled following the merger of Paramount and Skydance Media in late 2025. The co-creator shared that the RPG saw a "big setback" as a result of the merger, experiencing a full "reset," though he did express optimism that the project will still see a full release. Konietzko also confirmed that more official news about the Avatar franchise, and potentially the RPG, will be shared at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con, being held from July 23 to July 26.
