A new update has been released for Splatoon 3, and it's available right now on Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch. Splatoon 3 was released in 2022, and is the most recent entry in the franchise. Since launch, Nintendo has kept the game alive thanks to a series of in-game events and updates, including the popular Splatfest competitions. While the game has not received a Nintendo Switch 2 edition, there have been performance improvements when it is played on the newer system.
Nintendo reveals a new pair of Joy-Con controllers for Switch 2, and they'll be available for purchase in the very near future.
The latest update for the game brings it up to version 11.2.0, and players must make sure the update has been installed in order to play online. The update partially walks back some of the changes from Splatoon 3 version 11.0.0, while making changes to several weapons. It's too early to tell how players will feel about the adjustments, but the developers are clearly striving to keep things as balanced as possible. All changes in version 11.2.0 will apply to users on Switch 2 and the original Switch.
