Originally established by a core team of just 30 developers headed by ex-Ubisoft employee Guillaume Broche, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 went on to become one of the most successful video games of all time when it launched back in April of last year.

Taking place in a dark fantasy Belle Époque setting, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 tells the story of a group known as Expedition 33 who must travel across a destroyed Paris in order to face the Paintress, a being who causes a yearly Gommage, causing those at or above a certain age to be wiped from existence.

The unique concept as well as stunning visuals, voice acting, narrative, soundtrack, and more, made it an instant hit, and it was not long before the RPG by Sandfall Interactive went on to meet critical acclaim. It was such a success that it won the coveted Game of the Year award, as well as becoming the most awarded game in The Game Awards' history, winning a whopping nine out of its 13 nominations.
