The build-up to Grand Theft Auto 6 has come with plenty of excitement, but it's also generated a fair amount of confusion and frustration. Rockstar Games has been exceptionally deliberate with its marketing strategy, choosing not to saturate the market with heavy advertising until the release date grows closer.
That isn't to say there haven't been highlights, and the second trailer, which dropped in May 2025, proved to be a hugely rewarding trove of footage for fans. In June 2026, however, the same fans who were thrilled by the second trailer are starting to realize just how much time has passed since its release.
This week, the X account GTA 6 Countdown highlighted how much time has passed since the second GTA 6 trailer, making a note that June 10 marked 400 days since its release. They accompanied the observation with an edit of Leonardo DiCaprio's character in Inception recalling the trailer release, soundtracked by Hans Zimmer's "Time."
In the replies, other fans are feeling the passage of time just as heavily. GTA 6 Leonida shared a gif of Rose saying "It's been 84 years..." in Titanic (incidentally, a nice pairing with the Leo post). Analyst would prefer not...
